Excursion starts with a visit to Sapun mount. On your way you will learn a lot about people who defended Sevastopol in World War II. You will see Soviet military equipment as well as German trophy military equipment. The guide will tell you about three storms of Sevastopol by army of general Manstein and you will see the places of bloodshed battles, German trenches and shelters, which were taken by storm by Soviet soldiers on May 7, 1944. You will visit Diorama "Storm of Sapun mount" and the chapel of Georgiy Pobedonosec.
Then you will see the historic boulevard and the fourth bastion, the main fortification of the central part of the city during the first defense of Sevastopol in 1854-1855, you will learn about the main events of the Crimean war, its causes and consequences.
You will see the monuments of Historic Boulevard - to general Totleben, Yazonov redoubt, you will listen to the story of staying in Sevastopol of a young artillery officer Leo Tolstoy and mine war of the XIX century. In conclusion you will visit a unique museum - Panorama of defense of Sevastopol in 1854-1855.
Then you will visit Chersonesus, which is really a household name. In 1996 by decision of UNESCO it was earmarked among 100 most remarkable monuments of the world culture.
Excavations revealed the town which had been a large political, economic and cultural centre of the Northern Antique Black Sea Region.
You will get acquainted with the territory of ancient town: you will walk along its main street, quarters and squares which used to be alive with people. You will see the ruins of the ancient theatre, white-marble columns of the temples, remains of majestic defense constructions - walls and towers.
